Kathrine Simon, CNM MS, president and owner, is a graduate of the University of Minnesota School of Nursing, Masters of Science, and is certified by the American College of Nurse Midwives. Kathrine has a life long passion for nursing and midwifery and is driven to offer her patients personal care. "I feel so empowered to witness the birth of a family and to be the guardian of a families' health care experience. I am the mother of three energetic children (all caught by midwives) and married to a wonderful man who supports my every endeavor." Kathrine is also the proud "momma" of Darwin her goldendoodle.
Jessie Kunz, CNM MSN, staff midwife. is a graduate from Yale and is certified by the American College of Nurse Midwives. Jessie is from LaCrosse and after practicing overseas, has returned to the midwest to be closer to her family. Jessie enjoys providing an opportunity for women and their families to have an empowering and meaningful birth experience. At labor and birth, Jessie shares her gift of listening to women, their bodies and the normalcy of birth. During her free time she enjoys spending time with family, traveling and going to the theater.
Kristin Paul-Gatyas, CNM MSN, staff midwife is a graduate of Marquette University and is certified by the American College of Nurse-Midwives. For the past three years, she has been practicing midwifery in a free-standing birth center in the Bronx, New York. Kristin is bilingual, Spanish/English, and has been instrumental in a Centering Pregnancy program in NY. She believes every woman deserves a safe, respectful, and deeply satisfying birth and feels honored to be a part of their birth. When she is not catching babies, she loves running, reading, and spending time with her husband, son Gabe and chocolate lab, Zoso.
Amy Petersen, CNM DNP, staff midwife, is a graduate from the University of Utah and certified by the American College of Nurse-Midwives. Amy loves being with women in labor and believes wholeheartedly in the normalcy of pregnancy and birth and empowering women to make their birthing experience extraordinary and fulfilling. Amy recently had an opportunity to work with midwives in Mali Africa. During her spare time Amy enjoys spending time with her husband and son Jacob, watching movies, swimming and traveling. She hopes to adopt a dog soon.
Andrea S, MA is our lead office staff. Andrea keeps our clinic running at peak efficiency and completely organized. Andrea is busy at home with her son, Carson, who was caught by the hands of our midwives and topped the scale at 9 lbs!
Kim L, MA enjoys working with women and their families and always has a smile to share. She is also the mother of two children.
Our staff believe that our role is to help women maintain healthy lives and pregnancies. In building relationships with women, we have the unique opportunity and privilege to help women find their own internal strength and resources. Midwifery is the balance between these relationships, technology, and most importantly, caring for each woman individually.
